A typical Sheltered House has separate rooms for up to twelve Residents. This type of house is very suitable for elderly people who
can still do most things for themselves, but who, for reasons of frailty or loneliness, no longer wish to remain in their own homes.
Registered
Residential Care is intended for elderly people who require a higher degree of support. The Abbeyfield Southend Society
offers St. George's House, which is a modern building in Westcliff on Sea.
St. Margaret's House
This is a very attractive detached house situated on London Road, Leigh on Sea.
The house provides accommodation
for 10 Residents and has the services of a House Manager, Careline emergency service and the support of the Society's Administration
Office.
The value of companionship and friendship are priceless and are freely available to our Residents. The Society is privileged
to have a group of volunteers who give their time in order to support our Houses and our Residents.
But, what
about the cost of our service charges?
A private room with en suite facilities, meals, heating lighting, community charge, laundry
facilities, cleaning, a House Manager available every day, 24 hour CareLine system and full backup support of a dedicated administration
and maintenance team. All of this for around £300 per week.
We will, of course, be able to give you further details and an
indication from where help with these charges may be available, for example, Housing Benefit and Supporting People subsidy. These
are administered by staff at the Civic Centre, Victoria Avenue, Southend on Sea. We currently have vacancies so why not give us a
call?
