Volunteering at Abbeyfield

Here at Abbeyfield we are committed to the principles of Equality & Diversity. We therefore welcome enquiries from all ages and backgrounds.

Volunteers play a major role in Abbeyfield and giving your time as a Volunteer can be one of the most satisfying ways of making a difference to other people’s lives.

Becoming a Volunteer with Abbeyfield Southend will be a rewarding experience as there are many ways in which our Volunteers can make a difference to the daily lives of Residents – from providing much-needed companionship to getting involved in a House Committee, or even becoming a Trustee.

The application process is straightforward.  Simply download the Volunteer application form and Equal Opportunities form and post these to us at :-

19, Clifftown Road, Southend-on-Sea, Essex  SS1 1AB – marked for the attention of the Volunteer co-ordinator.

Once we have received your form we will invite you to a meeting with a named mentor, who will explain how the Society operates and what is involved in your chosen role. We will also take up 2 references plus a Criminal Records check. Once we have received these your work as a Volunteer can begin.

If you would prefer for us to send you an application form and information pack call us on 01702 213350. Alternatively you can request this on the enquiry form on our Contacts page.
